My engine rebuild continues, if only slowly. Just finished the new house and there are lots to be done. Getting the tractor running is getting more important as I need to do the finish grading. I fitted the crank and removed the pulley to align the timing marks, seems it needed to be out of the way to put on the front cover any way. What is the required torque for the pulley bolt? And will there be a problem/trick with the front rope seal when I install the pulley?

Also, if anyone can think of anything I may need to watch out for as I put this thing back together I would appreciate the heads-up.
BTW it’s a 1952 8N side mount s/n 445475.

Thanks - Ronin

Ron..... ...I'd use a newly discovered N-Ford fittable 1-piece neoprine front oilseal. NAPA p/n 550199 (40x62x11) instead of rope seal

Do an N-Board archive search on "david o + front seal" for more info on this great improvement over the crankshaft rope seals.

Torque the front crankshaft pulley bolt to 150 ft/lbs.

Oh yeah, iff'n ya replaced yer camshaft drive gear, WATCHOUT for timing mark miss-alignment. Its not a micrometer kinda deal, but a real visual thing when yer #1 it TDC..... ...Dell

You might want to check with Dell RE: timing marks alignment. Seems to me there was a problem with some mismatched marks on some aftermarket items. Ron
