I have a 48 8n and was wondering if I could swap the rear axle housings from a 50,51,52 8n so I could use the double axle seals. I'm also having trouble with my distributor cap being broken on the lower right ear plug wire inlet. Is there a spacer that could be worn allowing this or would it be the axle? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Alex Smith

As "Jeb2N" said the King Pin and Bushing should be replaced. A common problem lately seems to be finding a good matched King Pin and Bushing. Many of the Bushings I.D. are oversized and the King Pin is a very loose fit. Probably "China made bushings", so check it out when buying.

I think you would have to swap out the axels as well as the trumpets.

Don't know about the axle trumpets but your distributor problem is related to a worn out king pin on the front axle.
