Timing Mark

I am putting my 8N overhauled engine back together.

When I got ready to line up the timing marks, I found the notch on the timing gear, but when I looked at the crank shaft gear there was no mark visible. I took sandpaper and sanded the crank shaft gear.

After sanding the gear, I found a 0 stamped in the middle of one of the teeth. Is this the timing mark to match with the notch in the timing gear?

Thanks for any help.

Bruce

Notice the orientation of the crankshaft key when the timing marks are lined up, and (the following only applies to the front-mount distributor) also notice the orientation of the distributor drive slot.
