Thank you to all who gave me their excellent advice. Bought a 6volt charger. Staretd to charge and then charger test said replace battery. Tried trickle charge and did not take. Took it to Sears and they tested it, replace battery. Fluid in a hydrometer is 1125. Battery is junk. No one has one until Tuesday. Tried to free starter drive but I don;t think that it freed but I wonder if it is really stuck? 12 volt jump with a 12 charger and vehicle with nothing but sparks. Negative to ground, positive to starter pole, then solonoid. NOTE: It is a 6 volt NEGATIVE system. Checked polarity on 6 volt alternator. Polarity is negative (alternator is a 6volt neg ground from Tewksbury Mass. Neg battery side to ground, Positive battery post cable to solonoid and additional cable to alternator. Only one wire on alternator. Looks like a bought a "Bubba" 6 volt conversion? Why would someone put an alternator on and change the wiring instead of just getting another generator? Are they not available or was alternator cheaper alternative? Bad battery is a start to fix my problems. I will let you all know how I made out. Thank you again for your excellent input. Much appreciated.

Fair chance a 12v charger doesn't have the amps to spin the starter. You can jump it from a vehicle. Do it in the right order and you won't burn up any threaded studs.
