Three questions: first, my battery is an 8 volt. The water looks a little low. Should I add water and should it be destilled?

What's a terminal block?

Three, I'm putting on a new wiring harness, and it appears that the coil is wired different than my manual suggests. The wire that attatches to the distributor looks like it should go to the terminal block...?

Thanks

Of course you should add water to a low battery. Distilled is good.
The terminal block should be mounted on the back side of the dash under the ammeter. That wire off the top of the coil on a front-mount distributor goes to the terminal block. Side-mount distributor has a wire from the distributor goes to the coil. Look more closely at your manual for the correct wiring diagram. You must have a side-mount and you need the wiring diagram that is labeled 8N after SN 248xxx or something like that.
But I don't know if you have a side-mount or what manual you have.
Coil wire goes to one side of the resistor on the terminal block. All by itself. The other side of the resistor goes to the ignition switch. Other side of the ignition switch goes to the third terminal on the the block along with the other wires.
