My 8N (early model) starts easily but will not run. Will run one to five seconds after starting. Fuel feed appears is good to carb. Have cleaned the carb, all inside carb parts appears good. Have cleaned the oil bath air filter, it was plugged up but after cleaning and fresh oil no change about running after that. Any and all suggestions welcomed. Thank you

Roger, sounds like a bad condenser, or points burned or closed.

"""Fuel feed appears is good to carb. """

Appearing good isn't good enough to run an engine... Verify that it is good. Pull the plug on the bottom of the carb and see if it will pee a good solid pencil sized stream into a glass jar without tapering off. If it tapers off.. you have a fuel restriction. I fhtere is water or other gunk in the jar.. that could/is a problem as well.

During the 1 - 5 secs it runs are you pressing the starter button, perchance? If it only runs when the button is pushed, something is wired wrong. Steve 8N 169302
