Got a question, kind of light for the weekend, nothing too taxing on the brain. After having something for quite awhile, around our family, things tend to acquire some sort of name.
Is a tractor male or female???? They do a lot of work without grumbling but aren't much to look at so perhaps male, on the other hand, they can be aggravating and contrary for no apparent reason so . . . . . Just trying to decide if it is a Lucille or a Roscoe, ha.

My 2N is Clyde, and definitely male. My Case 1030 is Xena, and most definitely female!

When bringing our tractor home, it seemed the trailer was dragging its feet when I turned a corner, so I said "come-on BUDDY" and the name stuck. Buddy is a male, just turned 55 years old. I got him a dirt scoop for his birthday.

Enjoy

Since I am new to tractors, I thought the same thing when I got mine. It comes to you in time. For instance, my first tractor - a 48 8N, is a female tractor. I know this because, like a female, nothing is ever enough. I have over $5k in her and she still isn't quite happy - there is ALWAYS something else she needs. My second tractor is a 52 8N and is a male tractor. I can tell this because the simplest rigs work great, the first time, and it keeps chugging along all the same. Can take serious abuse and never complains.

I finally decided to call them Samson and Delila.

Good luck,
Dan

Since my wife and I will be moving to her great grandfathers old homestead in Missouri in a few years, we are naming this 49 restoration after him. RUEBEN

Maybe I'm a little strange, okay, maybe real strange, but I think my GIRLS are beautiful! There's Agnes (641 Ford), Lucy (Massey Pony), and Millie (Farmall A). I was hoping to add Allis (Allis B), but she never got delivered.
