How long should a 3pt hitch stay up under load? I am having the 3pt sys repaired and a new pump put in by the NH dealer, ( so i hope it's right).I was just curious if it should stay up overnight or will it still leak down. Also is it good for it to be kept under load while no pto is running?
Anxiously waiting for my tractor back. Rick.

Keeping the hitch up under load is more a function of a good lift piston than a good pump. Unless the NH dealer is replacing the lift piston, a new pump won't do much for keeping the load up when the tractor is turned off. I replaced the lift piston on my 50 side mount last fall, and just for grins, left it up w/ the disc on it. It was still up the next morning. On of these days I'll just leave the disc on it to see just how long it will take to leak down.
