I have a 1950 8n and I noticed that only the tire on the right side spins when I bogged down pulling a box scraper. I put it on jack stands so the rear tires would be off the ground, put the tractor in first gear (with the engine shut off), and spun each tire by hand. The opposite side tire would turn for both sides. With the tires still off the ground I started the tractor and put it in first gear. The right tire spun with a lot of force. The left one kinda spun but I could stop it from spinning with my hand. Shouldn't both tires spin with equal force? If so does anyone know what might have gone bad? Thanks for any help you guys can give.

That's normal. Next time one tire slips (eg, rightside) put a little brake on that side (eg, right brake) to make the other wheel (eg, leftside) dig in and pull harder.
8N paradox; sometimes a little brake on both wheels will pull you through a slick spot. IT'S TRUE! Sometimes slight pressure on brake pedals and sometimes I bounce my foot, hard, off both brakes to make it dig and pull me out of a tough spot.
Tractor brakes are a whole nuther thing than automotive. You use the brakes to steer also.

Thanks for the information and advise! I'll try a little brake next time it slips. Good to know nothing is broken.

Differential my man. It transfers power to the right wheel usually, but if the traction on the right is higher than on the left it will transfer some (all) to the left. Hence the reason for the automotive creation "limited slip differential", and on some tractors the "differential lock" lever. This lever locks out the differential function, like running a solid rear axle(like on a 3 wheeler).....but don't try going around a corner with it engaged.
