My tires on my 9n are getting really bad. I would love to switch to 16 inch rims and tires but not sure how. If I get some do they just bolt right up like the 19's.

On a Ferguson TO-20, the front hubs from Ford cars 1940-1948 would fit on the spindles. But those are not so plentiful now as in the late 50's- early 60's. I assume that some of the Ford tractors would have matching spindles to the cars.

I have a pair of extra 16 inch rims to fit an 8N if you cant find any.

I just checked into this and was told that I would only need to replace the front hubs and wheels. Our tractor should be the same setup as yours right now.

He does not need hubs if he finds 9N 16 inch rims. If he can't find them & wants to use the more common 8N 16 inch rims, then he will need to put 8N hubs on his 9N.

I would bet those are rather difficult to find!

I think wheels from a 1936 or 37 Ford car will interchange with the 9N, if you can find them. We had an 8N with 4.00 X 19 tires. My uncle had an identical tractor with 6.00 X 16s. I think there is less backlash through the steering wheel with the 19" tires. They are also relatively inexpensive.

Car rims will not fit 9N hubs, different bolt circle. But the car hubs will fit on the tractor allowing car rims to be used.

I have to disagree with you. Ford used an odd wheel with a large bolt circle for two years on their cars. I am quite sure that is what the 9N front hub is derived from.

Yes; just make sure you get 9N 16 inch rims. An 8N 16 inch rim will not work on a 9N unless it has 8N hubs. Your 9N wheels have the lug nuts almost on the far outside of the rim, whereas the 8N rims have the lug nuts very close to the hub.

I"ve been researching this and stubled onto this discussion. It looks like 36-37 ford 16 inch car rims may fit, but I have not measured the bolt circle yet.
