I was doing a little electrolysis cleaning on some of my 8n parts such as dash, battery box, etc. Still have the fan attacbed to the water pump. I can insert fan, blade side down, in electrolysis water and clean it. Am I running a risk if I turn it over and clean water pump.It turns good now with no problem. What's your thoughts?

ozbo,
I don't suggest doing the water pump. Take the blades off and do them. You can't tell what condition the seal is in unless you disassemble the pump. NOT fun. I just did mine and AFTER I ordered a new pump, I disassembled the old. My seal was totally shot, the outside of the bearing was rusted and I don't know what kept the water from the bearing as much as it did. If I had "cooked" mine, whatever crud was holding back the water would be gone. Of course I wouldn't have known for a couple of hours after getting the tractor back together.

Just be sure not to run the electrolysis current through the bearing!

I don't see why you couldn't do what you described. Just make sure you support the waterpump good so it doesn't fall over into the electrolysis solution. HTH. Rick H. GA.
