Hi All,

I got the Jubilee transmission reassembled this weekend after replacing the broken main-shaft 3rd gear and the countershaft. I knew when I got the Jubilee in rough condition it would most likely be a learning experience. Well, I have learned a lot about the Jubilee transmission, which is basically the same as the 8N. They are relatively simple once you overcome the fear of the unknown.

I still have a ways to go yet on the restoration but I’m not in a hurry. My next major project is the engine. So far so good. Rick H. Ga.

Rick; I'm right up the road from you in Douglasville and too will tear into a Jubilee shortly for motor overhaul and hopefully only basic other stuff. Let me know how your overhaul goes. I did an 8n transmission a couple of years ago and was surprised at how relatively easy it was. If you don't put it back together right, it won't turn so you know if it turns, you probably got it right. Jubilee's are fast becoming a good collector item and have always been a good work tractor.

You're making steady progress. I've enjoyed following your posts. Keep the wrenches turning. I hope to have my 9N in the next week or so. It's only been 3 months I've been saying that. It hasn't bothered me too much though. I've been working too much to do anything else anyway. I do see my schedule opening up soon (about the same time I'll get the tractor) so I'll be able to check her out and begin bringing her back to life. I have the loader now too, which needs a little work. That will be fun. I'll keep you posted. Eric
