My 8n will start and run a few minutes then shut off. It will restart and run for a few minutes then shutoff.I took the carb apart and cleaned it but did'nt help. Also the amount of gas coming into the fuel filter is like a trickle.
Should it be more? I put a new inline filter on but did not help the problem. Anyone got any idea what might be wrong?

There are 3 filters in your system. One is the screen in the top of the fuel shutoff. This can be checked by removing the glass bowl. The screen is right above this bowl. The second filter is located at the carburetor. Remove the fuel line from the carb (Shut off the tank valve first), remove the elbow on the carb and there should be a screen attached to the elbow. Sometimes they become unattached and you have to reach in with a toothpick to fish the screen out. These are the two easy ones. The last screen and where your problem is most likely to be will require that you drain the fuel tank and remove the shutoff valve assembly. There's a screen on top of the valve assembly which extends inside the tank. Hope this helps. DickTN

Mine was doing the same thing.
The problem I found was trash in the tank, and fuel line. You can use a air to blow the fuel line out,as the tank goes, you can buy a new one for $143 or used one for around $50 or do like I did and buy a good sealer, like POR-15.
If you want to know more about the sealer type in POR 15 in your search engine.
