8n soft plugs?

I have an 8n. I don't know what year it is. My problem is that anti freeze is spaying out of the engine. I can't really tell where it is coming from. It seems to be coming from a stud next to one of the hoses. It is coming out and spraying toward the radiator. Could this be a soft plug? I'm not a mechanic and I don't have a clue. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Orion

A soft plug is as big as a half-dollar. If you have a 'spray' it's probably the water pump because their isn't a big water pressure anywhere else. It might be you should replace that hose or maybe just tighten the clamp. If the hose is cracked get a new one at the local farm/ranch store. I put a thin coat of silicone on the hose bib before I install the hose.
Underneath the water pump pulley hub there is a weap hole. Before the water pump fails completely and damages the radiator as it comes apart there is water coming out that weap hole. You should be able to see a water stain pointing you to the leak. Turn the tractor off and let if dry. Then feel and look around for wet to find the leak.

Orion, you didn't say if the antifreeze was coming from the top or bottom hose (area). Each one has it's own type fix. Top? Could be a head bolt.Bottom? Could be water pump. I'm no mechanic but this info would help. Each one has a different approach.

Thats a interesting problem! My guess might be that the casting might be cracked around where that bolt is and it appears to be coming out of the bolt. Maybe someone else can help out a little more.
