Have discovered a significant vibration when using my bushhog. Took a look, and I have one of the blades is very loose on its shaft. Any suggestions on removing the hub from the gearbox, besides penetrating oil and a big hammer? Am I correct in assuming that the castle nut is left hand threads? Thanks for the help

I suppose it depends on the type of hog you have. My blades are attached to a 'stump jumper' and are meant to be very loose. They swing out of the way if they hit something immovable. The nut for the blades are accessible through a hole in the deck. They are lefty-loosey nuts w/ lock washers. The stump jumper is held on with a castelated nut. Lefty also. Sounds like you might have another brand. Good luck. Steve 8N I69302

Actually what you describe sounds like the type of mower that I have. It has a vibration bad enough to shake the tractor, and the blades appear to be in good shape, as far as visible damage to them. Any ideas on where to look for the cause of the vibration?
