Hi All,My Jubilee project is coming along OK but ever so slowly. This weekend I disassembled the lift cover hydraulic cylinder to clean it up and put a repair kit in it. It looks like I’m going to need a new piston to go with the new O-ring and leather back-up washer. It has the old “A” type piston and the O-ring and washer were completely missing. The FO-19 manual says to replace the piston with the newer “B” type as the O-ring and back-up washer may be damaged again using the old type piston. The cylinder bore was not in bad shape and I was able to hone it good so it should be good to go. It has the older style unloading valve without the O-ring. I took it and the control valve out and cleaned them up good per Zane’s instructions I read in the archives. I have read that the newer replacements are expensive and I’ll wait and see how the lift works before I invest more money in it. The bypass check valve and safety relief valve seem to be OK. The steel ball and seat needed cleaning up but I believe they will be OK (time will tell). I got the wallowed out bushing hole in the flywheel bored out and installed the newer ball-bearing type pilot bearing. I will be refurbishing the distributor next. Then, completing the rebuild on the carburetor. So far I have done a lot of work and spent more than what I paid for it in parts and machine work. I guess the best part of all is that I have enjoyed tinkering with. So far so good… Thanks for listening. Rick H. Ga.
