Loader wreck

I was driving the 8N with Wagner loader and was turning sharply and raising the bucket of dirt high over a gate and fence post. Suddenly the loader lost all hydraulic pressure amd the bucket crashed down hard crushing the metal gate. The fence post stuck up between the loader arms, bucket and tractor, I was stuck and had no lift. I had to drop the bucket from 6 feet in the air and cut down the fence post and remove the gate to get untangled while my three horses watched for a chance to escape.

Apparently the 4 stubs on the pump stinger pulled forward and away from the crank pulley. Does anybody know if those stubs are supposed to be about 3/8 inch long or have they broken off? I can't get them back into the pulley, maybe only because the ends are a little messed up.

Thanks

The pins have a step first step is about .150. next is the pin that fits into the bushing at the ballancer, they are .570 are about 9/16, total lenth of the pin from the hub is around .700 are alittle less than 3/4., if ya need any pump shaft parts i have'em. Hub is threaded on to the shaft, left hand thread, If it has worn the pins that bad you also may need the crank pulley, the rubber bushings are replaceable.

Thanks Hobo, that's exactly what I wanted to know. Now I can start tearing things down. I have the I&T manual and it looks like the whole front axle can be rolled away without too much work. It'll probably need your help with a few new parts. I'll let you know when I get in there and see the damage.

I'm very appreciative of your help.

Use the trick Dell mentions.... remove a spark plug and put the end of a clothes line rope in the cylinder. When you try to loosen the stinger the rope will stop the engine/crank from turning.

I had a similar thing happen with my loader, all I had to do was loosen the pump and finegle the pins back into the pulley. You may be able to replace the rubbers without having to remove the loader and front axle( cross your fingers)
