Wow! My '52 8N is serial number 8N512510, only fourteen numbers away from yours. I'll bet anybody'd be hard pressed to come up with two Ns closer than that. I'm curious where you're located. Actually, it'd be interesting to know how both tractors got to their present homes.

512524 should be a very late '52, the last year of the 8n. According to the Smith's page at http://home.att.net/~jmsmith45/identify.htm , the last 8n was 524076.

Serial # says engine is a 1952 8N..... check some of the casting codes to confirm rest of tractor as a '52 -- engines did get swapped on these old gals.
