I have sought the advice of the collective genius here a few times regarding a stuck clutch in my '48 and have determined that the disk is really rusted to the flywheel (but good) , I figured that if I have to split the tractor anyways I might as well replace the whole kit'n caboodle in there while it's apart , so what I'm wondering now is if there are any aftermarket parts retailers in Canada???? I have not been able to locate any and would like to save having to pay duty to import parts from the US , I would rteally like to avoid paying over $400CAD for the parts from the friendly folks at New Holland (they don't even offer a clutch kit , all parts must be purchased separately) OR any other suggestions that you might have would also be most welcome , thanks again

As an aside I have acquired a Cockshutt 550 (gas) of about 1960 vintage with a seized motor in a state of partial disassembly but with a really nice FEL and am wondering if it's worth hauling it 230km (130 miles) round trip? the tin is in very nice shape , very slight surface rust but a few dings in the front (grill) piece

thanks once more

There should be no duty on AG PARTS between the US and Canada. (Free Trade, you know!)

The clutch is the same as certain old Ford cars. Perhaps a knowledgeable automotive parts place that's been around for a while could match it up for you.

Due you have any industrial friction suppliers up there? In the States places like that can reline a clutch disc and resurface the pressure plate, and likely have exchange units available as well.

(Ford didn't make the clutch compoments, they are more or less off-the-shelf parts.)

Where are you located in Canada ? There are several places in Southern Ontario for parts.

Two of the best sources for you would be --- www.bryansfarm.com (519)837 - 0710 www.fawcett.cc 1-800-372-7149
These people could find or replace everything for N series tractors.
