Where is the last post from 8Ner? I usually don't post but it made for some real intresting reading. I assume some web guru on this site pulled it?

Well, I don"t know if it was because of the other forum or not... I know I enjoyed riding 8Ner like a two dollar pony... I kept it all above the belt, but I did suggest he go buy a little safe riding mower and leave us and Dell alone!!!
I"m ready and waiting for 8Ner to go at it again...

It was deleted by the owner of this board. Could have been because I posted about another N-series board that does not allow rude or hurtful comments to be posted - because it disappeared about 2 minutes after I posted that post(?)

Which site are you talking about, Dan? The official Dell-bashers club? I'll take a pass. I quit posting over there awhile ago. I got skinned alive over there with one of my first posts as a newbie for a simple question I asked while brainstorming. So much for your theory about not allowing rude or hurtful comments! The best part was that rather than publicly shaming the offender in the post, the moderator apologized profusely in a private e-mail for the incident and said that he asked the other party to play nice. I don't expect to always agree with or get along with everybody or for everybody to be pleasant all the time, but that experience and a few others there have convinced me that that place is where all the crybabies and malcontents hang out. They spend more time bitterly whining about getting banned from this site and reminiscing about some stupid cookout than they do talking about tractors. I'm not really sure what those guys did or said to get banned from here, but after some of the heated debates we've had without censorship, it must have been pretty rotten. I don't always agree with the advice or the demeanor of Dell and some of the other big posters here, but I still respect them and when there's a disagreement, it's always on tractor philosophy and doesn't get personal. I'll take this board any day.

Joe, I would not do this great site an injustice by posting other websites that has similar interests. You may or may not be talking about the same site as me, as the people I have seen post there are widely considered some of the most respected authorities on the N Series tractors, far from the crybaby and malcontents you are talking about.

I will agree to disagree on this issue, as I post and enjoy the diversity on this site as well. I don't agree with some people's manners and delivery - but WHO CARES? I am big enough to know it takes all kinds to make this world go around. Some people like to be coached - some people like to be insulted, and some people like to figure it out on their own. Just because I get offended at the manner someone responds to a post, doesn't mean everybody takes offense to that same response. My response was simply to let others know there are other sites on the web that may be more suited to their personal style.

i like this site too, i used to look at some others, but was not happy with the content and/ or answers, it looks like most people here that post have genuine questions, and recieve the real help they need. even though our n's are all over 50 years old, others, like me, can still find themselves in uncharted teritory working on them, its always best to ask a question before ya ruin something and the tractor spends the next 50 years in a corner in peices

I'm not on your case at all, Dan. Hope I didn't sound that way. I'm sure we're talking about the same place. I just wanted to point out that my experience there wasn't very favorable. I understand that there are some knowledgeable individuals there, but I have yet to post a question or a request for an opinion on this board without getting an answer. That other place does a lot of talking, but very little seems to be about fixing tractors. I've posted questions a couple of times that were completely ignored. My personal preference is to spend my time here. I've got nothing against those guys at that other place, but they're just not my kind of people. The atmosphere is rather cliqueish and I didn't make it with the "in" crowd.

I've always been impressed by the advice posted here. I have saved a bundle of money following the advice of these experts. My daddy always taught me the only stupid question was one you didn't ask....

My only wish for this site is that threads be capapble of staying on page one, or being retrieved via "Posts since last visit".
