if you have calcium in the tires try to park it with the valve stems up.

Rookie..... ...would you believe that yer 8N's OWNERS MANUAL has 2 pages and 16 steps of instructions for wintertime storage. And I ain't gonnna type them all out for you.

But this is what I'd do at a mimimum:
1) do annual OIL and FILTER change
2) make certain it had 50/50 anti-freeze 3) Stabil in the gastank and run thru the engine
4) turn OFF the under the tank FUEL VALVE
5) BLOCK down the clutch pedal
6) give all the greese zerks a squirt of greese
7) disconnect the battery cable but you'll haffta recharge it next spring ennyways
8) flip up the seat and putta white buckett over the trannny shifter
Tarping is optional but isn't the blue tarp the State Flag of Michigan? (grin)
HTH..... ....Dell

Now where did you get that one about a blue tarp being the state flag of Michigan Dell. I never heard that before. Besides our flag is a deeper blue than a tarp. LOL

Plenty of antifreeze and put it under something. Tarp, lean to? Keep the snow, ice, and rain off of it somehow. Take the battery out and store it inside and trickle charge it occasionally. Drain the gas out of the tank and carb. Put some Saran Wrap around the shifter boot.

Thanx guys. After losing to Notre Dame today, I might tarp the tractor with my U of M flag!

8NRookie. Don't winterize it, put it to work like we do up here in the U.P. Sorry about the Wolverines. Here's a picture of my 9N with a Dearborn front mounted snow plow. I will be putting it back on the next time at camp getting ready for winter, which comes early up here. Ron
