Our favorite color is less than two and a half percent???
I find it hard to believe we are at the bottom of the food chain!!! Holy cow!!!
I was talking to a friend of mine who is really into green... I'm not really, but he made a very strong point. It was "Adam, John Deere and Farmall plowed America." Yeah, OK, I can appreciate that....
Anyway, at the home page of YTMAG, there is another vote going on to determine a new forum format. I happen to be in favor of the new look, so I voted. I'd suggest you go have a look at what the future of this site may hold and maybe take a minute to vote... While I think the new style will take a minute to get used to, it seems like it offers a lot of nice features.
What do you think?
Adam

I visit a diesel forum all the time, it uses this "new" format. I'm telling you dudes... it is a LOT more fun that this tried & true, but plain format!

You can do a lot more cool stuff & easier, like posting pictures, video clips, custom pictures custom handles with pictures and stuff so everyone can see a picture of you or your better half (your tractor) every time you post etc. The archive searches are better too. Or, just keep doing what your doing, both works, don't need to upgrade your computer it all works with your browser, Explorer or Navigator whatever.
I voted yes!

I voted no on the change because it probably would have made it incompatable with my curant computors a windows 95 that I am using and a windows 98 that blew the hard drive twice and after the second time the only thing I could use the newer computor for was my camara that got stolen out of my car.

"I'm agin it!!" As a certified HATER OF CHANGE, I see NO REASON TO CHANGE something that is already working well! Too many changes going on! Why do it, it's OK NOW!! Once I get used to something, some Idiot tries to disrupt it by instituting changes! Let it alone!!

If YTMag switches to a new forum format, I wonder if all the old archived stuff will be lost. Lot of valuable info there. Be a shame to have it all disappear.

Just a thought ..

I'm in favor of the switch. V-bulletin is the standard on many discussion boards. If nothing else, I wish they would update the search function to something more convenient.

Maybe I'm just getting old in reply to Adam Paul, 09-14-2004 15:17:25
Adam, How ya doin. My opinion: Ever since computers and then the internet became such an extension of ourselves one thing has made me crazy. The technology grows and changes so fast it"s hard to keep up with. I"d rather be tinkering in the shop than learning how to use new software. I do agree that a lot of the advancements are good. Some just seem to waste my time. As soon as I got used to Win 95 (a good solid OS) I got a digital camera that required Win 98 to run the software. I upgraded and had nothing but headaches. Of coarse by that time 98 was outdated. I like some things to stay the same. Learn it and then it"s easy sailing. Constantly learning new computer stuff is a pain. Hope you don"t mind I voted NO. Hope we"re still friends. Eric

PS. Where"ve you been?

Eric -

Building and teaching the new computer stuff keep me employeed for 35 years. But, after being retired for 5 years, I'm starting to relate to what your saying!

In my opinion, Taunton Press's Fine Woodworking Forum is one of the best.

One of the things I like about it most, is you can "subscribe" to a topic. and have really nice user profiles.
