I picked up my clutch kit today for my '48 8N (Pressure Plate , Disc , Throw out & Pilot bearings) for $304CAD ($236USD) a bit pricey but I only had to wait one day and plan on changing it out in the very near future , my question is this : while she's split apart is there anything else I should do to the innards???
thanks again

Check the ring gear and replace if needed.

If there is ANY wear at all on the flywheel surface, have it ground. With that, plus the new parts, the old girl should be good for another 50+ years!

Thanks alot Dell , hopefully everything will go smooth and she'll be useable again in no time , any hints to make the job go smoother , I'm kinda planning on blocking up the front half and braceing the engine from each side with 10' 4"X4"s to prevent it from rotating and using our big a$$ forklift at work to move the rear half with a sling around the bottom , does it sound like a good idea?
