Numerous ties, but still no oil pressure...

I have a Jubilee and have been trying to achieve oil pressure with no success. I removed the distributor and used a drill and flat bit to spin the oil pump gears. Only managed to get some seepage out the oil pressure gauge line.

I read in the archives about attaching a section of garden hose to the oil pump pickup tube. I tried this and was able to observe oil being drawn down the tube at a good rate. It flowed out the opening for the oil pan plug. Where the oil had been, I can only guess. Is there an access to clear any passages? Where could the problem be and how do I fix it?

Thanks, oslo

Woops put in the post above, i think he needs to add some oil in them shocks looks like you have figgerd out the pump will suck so i would say ya got a good pump. drop the pan and hook up yer hose to the pump and the utter end in some oil and spinn the pump and I think you will see were the oil is squrit'N out. You will see some leakage from the bearings, it should be about the same for all, you are looking for a good stream, something different than the rest of the oil leaks you will see. I have a old freon tank I made to pressurize the system wile I get my dose of oil to my head.

I found an old post explaining why I won't get oil to the lifters because the distributor is off and the oil is going to the crank case. I now believe the pump is working so I will start working on getting the tractor to spin. I am assuming that the oil pump is working. Thanks

It is certainly possible that the distributor stem blocks off a massive oil gallery leak, although I don't have access to a shop manual at the moment to confirm that. Good luck getting it to crank, and I hope you have oil pressure then!
