Used the Jubilee a little today

My 53 Jubilee restoration project is progressing well, although ever so slowly. Today I put the freshly painted lift arms and linkages back on and hooked up my 5-foot brush-hog. The hydraulic lift works great but it does make a slight high-pitched squealing noise when lifting. I believe I have read that this may be a leaking check valve but I am not going to worry about at this point in time. When I rebuilt the lift cover I took the check valve, spring and ball apart and cleaned them up good. The PTO works fine but the PTO shifter is a little stiff. I figure the detent ball probably got repositioned during re-assembly and will smooth out in time. I’d rather it be a little tight than be too loose and slip out of gear.

She purred like a kitten while mowing one of my fields. I must say it was a good feeling to use the Jubilee to do some useful work since it was basically a parts tractor when I got it.

I still don't have the hood and fenders on yet. I'm still in the process of refinishing them. They are not dented up but they do have a lot of pitting and few rust holes.
