Hey txblu!!! Just had to ask, what are you into?!?!? It seems like I"ve seen you on just about every forum here at YTMAG that I enjoy... The kicker was finding you over at the Massey and Garden tractor forums... (still haven"t seen you at the Paint and Bodywork forums, but I"m sure it won"t be long :) )Belive it or not, I took real notice of you when you used the word "hootis", as I thought I was the only one who ever used it (and no-one ever heard the word before), with the exception of a friend in NYC 15 years ago... While I"m thinking of it, I always thought the word was a shortened term for "Who did this (usually shoddy work)" Anyway, as you might have figured, I"m into "N""s, also have a Massey 65, and about 10 rare and vintage garden tractors and I"m from GA...
It"s a pleasure to say hello!!!
Adam

Well sir, I am into a lot of things and thoroughly enjoy yakin on here. Acquired the word Hootis from an Okie of all things. Nice definitive word when you can't think of any thing else to call something.

I'm deliberately off the P&B forum as I hate to paint. Kickback from childhood I guess, or maybe I'm just too lazy to do all the pre and post preparations..... that's it. Laziness.....really.

The other day I posted about a walk behind David Bradley that my grand pa used on a very large garden. I helped him (reluctantly as I wanted to fish his pond) with his garden when visiting. Have any of those in your collection?

Enjoyed the chat.

Mark

Mark, great to make your acquaintance!
Yes, I have two David Bradley’s, but usually forget to include the second!!! My main DB is actually hood-less (as it's supposed to be when powered by the 5.6 hp Wisconsin) the other DB is hooded, and is a "clicker" style... Either way, I also have about 8 or 9 original implements for them, some quite rare... The DB is the handiest tractor... It used to be my main machine for up keeping my property... Made for some long days when cutting 3 1/2 acres of pasture and grass... The "N" helps with the pasture, but I still love walking the land with the DB. Now I use it more for trim work and under trees. Believe it or not, it can take some time to learn how to "drive" one... If you don't, it will spend the day dragging you around!!! Somehow, I missed your post (I think) in regards to yours... I'll take a second look. What was it about?
Modern paint these days can be fatal to use if not properly equipped with the correct safety gear. I'm usually the one around here that goes into a good bit of depth on Iso safety and sandblasting safety... I can appreciate your distaste for painting...
Enjoyed your reply,
Adam

Grandpa's had a hood so it must not have had the Wisconsin engine.

Didn't they have a sickle bar attachment for the front of that? Think I recall seeing one rigged up that way.

Mark, just about anything you could think of was available for the DB. For cutting, they had the sickle bar, a bush-hog, rotary mowers in two different widths, a reel mower, and even a sapling saw...
Your grand pa's being hooded was pobably powered by a Briggs, or a Continental...

Mark, I must say I"m enjoying this exchange!
I did have a second and third look over at the other forum, and did not see the question you had posted... Perhaps you could ask me here...
Alway ready to help,
Adam
