My 8N has been running fine(TKs for suggesting a new coil)+(oil pressure improved with 20-50 oil). Now it turns over with starter, but won't fire except for an occasional "putt". Gas is good. Starter is good. Yesterday, while coming up with a load of wood, it almost stalled out suddenly but "grabbed" on again and came home. Is this a condenser? Or? Bob

TKS Dell- I gently pulled the coil contact wire and tightented the fit of the coil on the dist. You were right its a front mounted. And she fired! And I got a load of very dry wood up before it rained! rough woods roads! Bob

Bob..... ...most sudden loss of sparkies is usually loose wire connection somewheres. I'm gonna guess that you have the squarecan frontmount distributor. And while it could be a loose/bad condenser you can tell by looking at your ignition points. Based upon your minimalist description of your problem, I'd guess that the springy-thingy under your squarecan ignition coil needs to be gently stretched to make a more positive contact with the gutts of the distributor. Then I'd check the gap of the frontmount points 0.015"..... ..Dell
