Here is a pic of my 53 Jubilee project tractor. I have spent many hours and a lot money restoring it. I have enjoyed the effort. She runs just as good as she looks.

You can see the 8N peeping out of the barn to see what is going on.

Starter motor question in reply to Rick H. GA., 10-19-2004 07:18:03
Hi....have a question about a 1953 Jubilee. The starter motor turns over but won't crank the engine. Can anyone help tell me what to do here?

Thanks,

Kevin

Rick H. Ga.

Good looking job that you did on your Jube.

I'm finally getting my Jube fixed. It has been sitting for many many years and the compression was down to about 25# pressure. I had the rings checked, OK. The valves seem to have a big build up of carbon. Had a rubber hammer taken to the valves. Seems to be helping. The pressure is up to 110 on two and high 90's on the other two.

Should be running in a couple of weeks, provided nothing major crops up.

I'm going to paint the tractor. Could you tell me some of the painting techniques that you used? If you were doing it again what would you do differently? Where did you get your paint? I like the colors.

I posted my email add. if you just want to email the info to me. Which ever way is fine with me.

Thanks in advance.
Paul D.

Looks great, Rick !! MAYBE some day my Jubilee will look like that !
That's one heavy duty looking bumper on it. Did you add that or was it on it when you got it ?
Nice Job, Lee

Actually, the bumper was on the tractor when I got it. It is not an original bumper but it is well made and, as you said, heavy duty. The front grill had a square slot cut out at the bottom of it where it apparently had a front hydraulic pump and loader at one time. I repaired the slot with some sheetmetal and bondo. It turned out OK for a shadetree job.

There is almost not a nut or bolt I have not turned on this tractor. The only compartment I did not go into was the differiential, although I did change the fluid in it.

I won't say anything! Last time I went to the hospital they couldn't operate 'cause they didn't have any of my blood type (green). Now I find myself restoring a red H and a 130. What is this world coming to? Ed

Hi Dan,

Like I said in an earlier post, this Jubilee looked about like the one you just bought. I didn't take a pic of the "before", although I wish I had. I guess I'm not much of a picture taker (plus I don't own a digital camera).

Best of luck on your Jubilee restoration project.

Rick H. GA.

amazing looking jube. Iwas just givin 1953 Jubilee for graduating college and i have plans on restoring it back to what i hope is 1/2 as nice of condition as yours. I was wondering what was the first thing you worked on? mine runs pretty well but has a lot of oil and grease on the engine. I was also wondering how is the best way to clean the engine i have a pressure washer but i do not want to damnage any wires that are exposed. If you have any information at all please contact me, it would be a great help. And again it looks great.
