I have a 2N and a old friend of mine told me that since the compression was a little low, he said after cyl/rings/valves job to still put an 8N head on it, he says it is more shallow and i will get a few more lbs of compression?????

The bolt holes for the oil filter canister is diff on some of the heads. If you switch heads, make sure to replace with one which has the correct holes for your tractor. don b

The 8n spec was 6.5:1 and the 9n/2n spec was 6:1. however.. increasing the comp ratio won't help much if you have a problem that is causing low compression.. like a leaky gasket / bad rings / bad valveseat.. etc.

If your compression is good and want a fractional ratio / hp increase.. it's your money.. go for it... save that old head in case you ever need it.
