Anyone seen a battery holddown like this? It doesn"t go on my 8N.
The headlight switch had the electrical thingie between the terminals, but no wires anywhere around. The headlights were apparently removed just before or just after (tehee) a PO put a loader on it. No identification, no resistance and ..... . no discernible purpose?

Thanks, guys. "N-astasia" has never been 12 volts, as many of the recently replaced bare wires could attest. I have the bracket to bolt to the bottom two bolts of the VR. Not too worried about using the lost knob switch, though it still works. If there was any resistance or infinite resistance through the electrical thingie, it still wouldn"t make sense as there is no place left to connect lights or a source of electrons with it installed. I"ll see if an archeologist can find any ID on it. Oh, I just happen to be married to one.

Any chance that this machine is 12 volt? Could be an attempt to drop the voltage to the lights to retain old 6 volt bulbs.

Russ..... ....on the non-proofmeter 8N's there is a shallow bend sheetmetal bracket that bolts under the squarecan voltage regulator to hold the headlight switch under the right corner of the hood/dash outta the rain.

The red-ish electrical thingy looks like somesort of high temperature, highwattage, low resistance sumptin, ex-ballast resistor? Sometimes people just diddle with stuff.

Haven't a clue on the HEAVY BRACKET..... ...Dell
