I have what appears to be an anti-freeze leak from behind the starter motor on my 9N. I am certain it is not leaking from the drain plug on the left side of the engine. Does the top (left side?) of the starter motor attach to the engine block where anti-freeze circulates? What can I check/do to correct?

Thanks!

Replace the "freeze plug" in the block behind the starter. If one is gone the others are probably ready to go.

Rob..... ...what Ray sez..... .them roundy disc things (1-3/16) in left side of block (3 ea) are commonly called "freeze-plugs" but don't. They're really for shaking the sandy core out of engine after being cast with MOLTEN IRON and cooled. Iff'n you don't understand how to install a new freeze-plug, ask..... ....Dell
