Used the Jubilee a little today

Well, I used the Jubilee a little today to do some brush-hogging. She performed great. The proof meter stopped working after an hour or so of run time so I stopped the tractor and removed the new cable and found that it was slipping in the slot in the end of the hydraulic pump. After refabricating the cable end it solved the problem and the proof meter worked again.

I've got some fine rusty particles (like mud) accumulating in the bottom of the fuel sediment bowl. I hope that clears up after running a few tanks of fuel through it.

I hope to get the bugs worked out of it.

I bought the Jubilee primarily as a hobby restoration project. After using it a while I've decided I like it.

If I had to choose between the Jubilee and the 49 8N I've had for 28 years it would be a hard choice.

I've been off the board for a while. Moved my business to a new shop so my computer has been disconnected for the last three weeks. I'm glad to see you got her finished. She looks GREAT. Eric

Rick,

You should run the tractor on reserve often. The problem with not running it on reserve is you draw fuel 1" above bottom, and not at the bottom. The water collects at the bottom, so your tank is going to rust away. If you are the occasional tractor user, you should put it on reserve every occasion possible. Just my 2 cents!!

If the cable gives you more problems, new ones are readily available for about $15.

Nice looking tractor!

That's great! I hope to follow up soon with good news about my NAA project. It will also be a bush hoggin' machine, but first I'll havta fix up the 5' Bush Hog that came with it. It'll need some welding and paint, probably a few surprises there waiting for me too.
