I have a Ford 9N Tractor with a Wagner bucket. I'm new to this and have a basic question.

Is there a special kind of Hydraulic fluid that I should use in this bucket?

Thanks.

I use 134 as well.

Not to be rude, but I'll just point out that the loader can be dangerous. Try to raise loads on flat ground only, and carry loads as low to the ground as you can when travelling. Limit what you lift to protect your front axle from breaking: I watch the front tires to see how much they are bulging as a guage. Avoid sharp turns on soft ground to avoid snapping off a front wheel.

Having a counterweight on the rear of the tractor helps alot with both steering and rear wheel traction. You can get a three point 'carry all' at a farm supply store for under a $100, and secure a barrel of gravel to it, or some 4' beams, or whatever you have handy. Others use another implement, such as a brush hog mower or a back blade as a counterweight.

Thinks for the jogging my memory. I grew up around tractors as a kid and have experience enough to understand the safety concerns. I have been away from them since high school, however (almost 40 years) and recently acquired this tractor because it reminds me of one that I used years ago.

Michael...THAT is some really GOOD ADVICE! Those of us that are really city-mice moved to the country ....are at a distinct disadvantage....until we listen to a few good, experienced farm boys. The first time I ever used a front-end-loader (which was about the 2nd time I was ever on a green tractor), I eagerly picked up a roll of hay about 6 feet off the ground (so I could see beneath it to drive) and took it as far as the gate, ...got off the tractor...and walked to the gate to open it...not realizing the heavy load was actually almost over-head. Nothing happened. But the following week that same FEL dropped instantly to ground when a hose-fitting blew off the actuator as the owner was using it to lift a bucket of dirt. Got my attention.

I use the New Holland 134 in mine as I do in all of my tractors.
