I'm ready to reinstall the engine on 2N, but have 1 question. I don't have access to a clutch alignment tool, but the F04 says you can remove the input shaft from the bell housing and use it. To remove this shaft do you have to drain the TDH fluid? Is there a gasket that has to be replaced? Any suggestions? Thanks, Rick

I used the imput shaft for my 601. Four bolts and its out, a little oil lost. Shims in there, no gasket, might put a little silicone sealer when you reinstall. Make sure your clutch pedal works when you put it back.

You can use the input shaft no sweat. 4 bolts and it's out, you'll loose very little oil. Suggest that you might want to replace the oil seal on the shaft as long as it's out. Put a little sealant on before reinstalling. My $.02

Many part houses have the alignment tools for this made out of plastic.
