A contributor, to a car magazine, says a cup of dishwashing soap in each cylinder, will loosen up pistons in two days or less. He had used all kinds of solutions, with no results. An oldtimer told him about the dishwashing soap. He was more than pleased with the results and the engine apparently did not suffer any negative effects.

After a few days ( using the penatrating oil of your choice) leave the spark plugs out and try turning the enging over by hand . PB blaster is a good rust buster , its your tractor .

Not at all. put tranny fluid in them or oil MMO is abrasive. You need to remove rust and free things up not score it worse. My $0.02

old..... .....dunnno where you gitt yer information, but as far as I know, Marvel Mystery Oil (MMO) is not an abrasive, it is a SOLVENT, not a lubricant. And works well to "un-stick" stuck rings in long-time un-run piston engines. And while ATF has detergent qualities, I'm skeptical as to its abilities to un-stick piston rings. I feel MMO is one of the very few "additives" that work as advertized. (besides, it has that neat old-fashioned red lable)..... .....respectfully, Dell

10-4 on the work as advertised! MMO has been around longer than I have, and I've seen it do amazing things! See the Pic for neat container that Dell was talking about! Back when I was younger, it seemed like there was a better one, but maybe I'm just getting old, hehehe!

I've use tranny fluid for more then 30 years and the only thing I have found better is a 50/50 mix with turpentine.

Actually the inexpensive mixture of 50% ATF and 50% kerosene has been the rust buster of choice for the offshore and marine construction industry since shortly after ATF arrived on the scene. Only thing I ever found that would loosen rusted hardware on large items such as tie-rods, pipe fittings etc in the 1-1/2' thru 4-1/2" thread diameters. Works on small stuff too!

This sound,s like good advice. I thank that i will start with a complite tune up. then change all oil,s and rebuld the carb before trying to start the tractor.I got the tractor when i bought the house and the owner told me that the tractor did run when he parked it.
