Went to Tractor Supply for a draw bar, and found nicely painted heavy stuff made in China.

Bought a "made in China" crowbar once. I bent it with my not-so-powerful upper body strength, and this made me nervous to buy a made in China drawbar.

Should I be looking for drawbars 'n such that are the same vintage as my 8N?

Don't know about TSC Draw Bars. But when you put "'n stuff" I can tell you about sway bars. The China TSC ones will bend easily. The spring steel ones available from some of the people here do NOT bend and could save your lift arms. I found out too late!

Yep.. the TSC stabilizer bars are noticable less beefy than an oem set that my NAA had.

Though I agree.. not all tsc products are 'up to par'.. I've had great luck with the drawbars. the one on my 8n will hold/pull my 16' trailer with a pallet of sod on it around the pasture.

I just welded up my New Boom and tested it with a load over 3,000 lbs. Not bad for 40 lbs of steel doing the lifting. Was looking at the different Booms sold and they wwere rated for 500-800 lbs. The one I just finished has a 3-plus Saftey Factor for the 1,000 lbs I wanted to rate it at for a safe working load. Mark H.

I know what you mean. I bought one of them at TSC, though, and havent had any problems with it. Used it to pull T-posts out and it didnt bend.

You could probably get one at the New Holland Dealer that would cost twice as much if that makes you feel better!

What are you planning to pull with it?

Old ones with the right numbers are desirable and collectible.I have never heard or seen any of the newer ones (likely made in China) that were bent or damaged in any way. Mike-Iowa

Mine's home made. Just a chunk of bar stock with pins welded on the ends. I use it mainly for skidding logs too, up to about 18" maple. But I also pull a hay rack fully loaded with it, and a square baler and it ain't bent yet, so I musta done sumpin' right. The baler did elongate the hole it mounts to a tad from the jerking, but not a bunch. My stay bars are home made too. Outta round solid bar stock, with tabs on each end.
