Back from the abyss.

I bought a nice 3 blade SitRex 5' finish mower this spring ($1100) and after using the heck out of it all year must say I am very pleased. My fields look so much better than ever. Boy was it a rainy year mostly for a while I had to mow in my dreams just to keep up!!!

Any one else have a SitRex (Italy) finish mower,
want to give me an Idea of things to look out for? So far this thing is like a tank.

I will agree . I have a New 6ft Sitrex , 3 Blade , rear Discharge finish mower behind my New Holland TC-40. I enjoy very much mowing my yard . Its a very smooth mower . and the few times I whacked the foundation with it . I think the house shook a bit . Its Powder Coated so the Paint is tuff as steel, and its virtually Bullet proof . I am getting ready to cover it for winter , and let her rest a bit . I Collect Farmalls , and Pull them . I sure enjoy Playing with them on the weekend and then having the Luxury of that New Holland for work around the House ... Sometimes the Neighborhood !!

I bought one of those 5 ft. Italian made finish mowers (although not that brand) 2 years ago for about that price & have mowed 8 acres with it about every time I turn around. Only problem I've has is flat tires -- they are not tubeless & it becomes a pain to fix. Have been thinking about having them filled, but too mucho dinero. Other than that, I'm very happy with it.... tough machine!

Check at TSC or most tractor supply places for a product called "Green Slime" (may be spelled wrong). It is available for tube and tubeless tires. Just make sure it is the one you need. My son used it and it sealed his leaks.

We use it on the Dixon mower tires & trailer tires. Haven"t had a leak since.

Yep, my grand-daughters have a gulf cart at the farm and we put "Green Slime" in it due to a leak and so far so good. The only thing I notices was it required more of the product for slow moving vehicles than faster ones. I bought one small bottle for them and after my son read the small print we had to buy one for each tire. Guess the more centrifical force the less that in needed to coat the inside.

Thanks BillM,

The SitRex has solid tires.
A bit bumpy on the driveway but a real plus as I have gig's of Osage Orange (Hedge Apple).

I just dropped the setting a bit & mowed all fields at a 45% pattern for a _HOPELFULLY_ last time this year!! Fields look like a park.

Got my garage cleaned so it's time to roll 'Henry'(47 8N) in for some maint, I actually am looking forward to winter just to get to do the rear seal job and (GASP) brakes!
