Since buying my 52 8n last August I became an avid reader of this discussion forum which I value highly for the quality of information and participant's comments.I am in the market for a number of maintenance parts + shop manual : a bit difficult to get here in Canada cause there is no known place catering to antique tractor owners'needs. I will be ordering parts from the YT store and picking them up in Florida when I visit my daughter next month , so I would appreciate any advice from those of you having experience with mail ordering parts.
By the way I will be travelling South and North in the December / January time frame thru the following states : NY-PA-DEL-VA-WVA-NCA-SCA-GA-and FLA : anything of substantial tractor interest I should know of or see ? THANKS...GUY T.

Some of those Canadian Customs guys can get pretty snoty when you head back home with stuff bought stateside.

A friend who lives in Toronto was ordering stuff and having it delivered to my Michigan address and then when he came to Michigan he would pick it up and take it back. On one trip he had a lot of Mercedes car parts and some network dishes and had trouble getting back in without paying duty on the whole mess. They literaly took his vehicle apart and ran him through the cavity check routine. Ya gotta watch those Canadians!

That's the north florida antique engine association. I've been a member there fro a few years now. That is the show where I drove my 2N in the tractor parade, and posted the pics. Fellow list members Don from Tallahassee, Gaspump, Raytasche, And Dalebear ( and his father ) were at that show. It is a small show.. but lots of nice people. A decent amount of tractors and 'junk' tables to buy from. Lots of steam and stationary engine stuff.. gristmills.. etc.

For info, you can email the editor of our newsletter.. enjman@aol.com

Antique tractors in Canada in reply to GUY T., 11-23-2004 07:13:24
Guy,
Have you done a Yahoo search for "antique tractors" "ontario"? I"m not sure, but by your route, I"d guess your in Ontario or Quebec. There are several returns from businesses and individuals. Even an Allis owner could steer you to contacts and sources.
Drive safe and enjoy Florida.
Russ

I've had good luck ordering parts from this site, as well as from quite a few other online sites.

Also.. you just happen to be passing thru a state that contains one of these online sellers... though I don't know if they have a storefront. They are in shelby NC.. if you are going anywhere near that.. I'd contact Don barkley, even if you just stop in and say hi. had you been going through IL, you could have dropped by the 'Smith's' place.
