Anybody wanna Rumble? I'm taken on all comers. There is gonna be a new king of the hill. So get used to it. I just, after 5 years of foolin around, got my tractor running. I didn't do the mechanics, but I halped. I just now talked to the fellow who worked on it and he said that the was the best most powerful Jubilee he has ever run. Personally I think he was being too modist(sp). 40/45 # oil pressure cold 30# hot. The battery was never used but was about three years old, but just wouldn't crank the engine. He was going to juryrig with a 12 volt system, but he took the battery to a buddy who deals in these things. He drained out the old fluid and added new acid and that battery turns the engine like new. If any of you know what may have been the cause I would like to inform him. He would like to know. Anyhow, even the tires are holding pressure. These are pretty ratty tires. You know what I mean. She's a runnin. The people of the South are known for their kindness, however I thought it highly odd, that when I took my old gas tank with a baseball sized hold in the top of it and plenty of rust inside, that he (a professional radiator shop) took over a year to fix, and felt guilty about it so he didn't charge me a cent. Are you with me so far? When I trailered the tractor w. parts to the mechanic he promptly threw the tank on the trash heap. I'm going to say it before some of yo'nses say it. You get what you pay for. He certainly didn't over charge me did he? My new tank cost about $220.00. Ah, come on fella's sometimes you just have to pay retail. I originally told him I didn't want to put more than $500.00 into the labor. The parts, without the tank, I figured would be about $250.00. He had the tractor running last week and was satisfied that he had done everything that I wanted. He did say the hydraulics didn't work. Ah, some on fella's you leave your hydraulics out for fifty years, well you know the joke. He tore it apart and soaked it in kerosene for a couple of days and reassembled it. Works fine. Every thing works fine now. I rebuilt the carb to perfection several years ago but he had to fine tune it. I guess things happen to carbs when they sit around. Got brakes, now. He said he didn't want me calling him about something not working so he got up Sat at 6 and worked until 9 or 10 that night going over every thing. Changed the gear oil and one of the cases, don't remember which, had about two inches of crud. That's all clean now. He will deliver it when I call. The total cost was $949.60, cash. I'm more than pleased. This amount could be debated. I more than happy. That's what counts. The reason I am giving all these facts and figures is that it might be helpful to others. Pictures will be posted. Only the fenders are on. the rest is in need of paint. I will do that my self. So if any of you braggarts want to test your testosterone youknow where to find me. I'm up to the challange. Thanks everyone for the help etc. PS: still 6 volts. PPS: Sorry about the long post but this was technical stuff. Don't you know. By the way do you want me to tell you about my grandson??? All you have to do is ask. Thanks again and here's to you all and let's have one more for the field. Paul D.
