I just bought my '52 Ford 8N. As far as I know, it has not beem overhauled recently and does not have hardened Exhaust Valve seats. Do I need to add a lead additive to todays unleaded gasoline. Has anyone else just been burning unleaded with no problems. This tractor does not get heavy use, such as field plowing, but will do a lot of snow plowing.

Ron..... .....your low compression 8N engine came from the factory with hardened valveseat inserts and was designed for 70 octaine gasoline and today's gasoline is 88+. You don't need "lead" additives. Besides lead additives contain NO lead, EPA you know. But iff'n it makes you feel good, additive away..... ..Dell

The gas of today will work just fine in it save your money and spend it on other thing besides lead additive
