While reading your post below, I noticed a reply that told you to remove your 6 volt battery and install a 12 volt battery. If your system is still 6 volt, DON'T DO IT!!! Ya don't need to fry your system to try a 12 volt start. You can crank your 6 volt system with a 12 volt battery, by connecting the hot lead to the starter post, and the ground to any ground on the tractor. Now as soon as you make connections it will start to crank, and if it's in gear, you'll get run over.... Don't ask ok?? This will spin your tractor faster, provided the starter is working properly, and it may start that way. This would not be a good reason to convert to 12 volt, as it would only be a temporary patch for a permenent problem. Good luck, Ron
