I made a promise I intend to keep. Reading the initial post this person ONLY asked for help selling his tractor. He was offering goods for money. I am the one, who offered a small amount of cash to help out. When a person helps out, sometimes he appears to be taken advantage of. I will never miss the $100.00. I wish this man and his family a Merry Christmas. BURT. P.S. Everyone shold make up their own mind.

Pasted from a gigboard.com ad dated 3/25/14:

Michigan - 30-39 HELLO OUT THERE IM A PERCUSSIONEST LOOKING FOR PEOPLE TO COLLABORATE WITH IN THE STUDIO HERE IN HOLLY IN THE MIDDLE OF THIRTY ACERS WERE NO ONE CAN HERE 24/7/365 INFLUENCES ARE EVERY THING FROM DREAM THEATER TO ALL KINDS OF JASS / BLUES YOU NAME IT NO LIMITS BEEN PLAYING FOR 30+ YEARS GIVE ME A CALL YOU WONT BE SORRY 248-328-0945 I HAVE EVERY THING NEEDED TO PLAY I MEAN EVERY THING AND A DIGITAL STUDIO TO BOOT WAITING ON YOU

Could be possible he has a farm and a tractor by this ad. Regardless, looks like he has been looking for work for awhile, but he could have been more up front. Who am I to judge... only post what I found.

You decide,
Dan

Mark - I did not think that at all, I hope you didn't think that. It is a cold reality in today's society that there are people who prey off of good and honest people - much like the kind of people you find here as you have seen. I really hate that it is like that, but the fact is that is usually the case. I posted those ads to show you do have 30 acres, and it was possible you had a tractor, and you have been looking for work for quite some time. It is up to everyone to draw their own conclusions.

You have chosen to do the right thing by selling your material things to bring happiness and to support your family. I commend you for that, as any good Father and Husband would. As I said in my post - who am I to judge. Each man has to live his own life and reap the rewards or pay the penalties for their decisions. I, for one, believe you are on the right path.

I will say a prayer for you and your family, and as long as your faith is strong - you will be rewarded. Not just by my prayer, but also by your faith. Keep your chin up.

Psalms 37:4

Please put it on ebay and get rid of it!

Maybe you could sell that big FORD Diesel that you haul it around to shows with.

I was also saddened to hear of your plight, so I did a reverese search of your phone number on Google. (just type in 248-328-0945, and hit search; it works on almost all phone numbers!) Surprisingly I saw 2 sites where you advertise being a professional percussionist with a digital studio. And the spelling was perfect? -- Perhaps You could part with a few of your musical studio items to save Xmas? Maybe I"m a grinch, but I don"t think you"re being upfront with the good and honest people on this board.

I'll still give the opportunity for them to substantiate. The email address they use points to one of those healer type religions. Oh well & whatever to that---And---The wife appears to be the local reverend. I couldn't dig up any negatives on him. Where did the percussionist/recording studio bit come from? It would be pretty difficult to pretend to write so horribly and still get the intended message out without detection. Maybe I'm the fool here but I sence its legitimate. Let's see what comes next.

mdoc- I can understand how you may feel as if people are scrutinizing you without adequate evidence that would warrant it. That said, I too, am skeptical in these times, especially after some of the scams I've seen and been a victim of in the last ten years or so. Unscrupulous people need to be very convincing in order to succeed. So we all tend to be a little wary of those who profess to be needy and ask our financial assistance.

Here's what I suggest to not only get your tractor sold, but to kind of take everyone off the hook and put the issue to rest:

Get a couple of decent digital pictures of the tractor and get it listed on eBay with a 3 or 5 day listing. DO IT TOMORROW! Give as much factual information as possible about the tractor's true condition to make it easy for a buyer to make a sound purchasing decision. Set the opening bid at about 75-80% of what you're hoping to get and let the bidding rip. Require cash or money order within 5 days of close and you should have the immediate problem solved.

Hope this helps and good luck to you and yours.

First let me point out the facts that I know about Mr. Mark Daniels
1) the guy can"t spell worth a crap! (thats no reason to judge him though)
2) He does live in holly about three miles from my house
3) He is currently unemployed because he used to work with me and our hours just up and disappeared and thus he was left holding the bag, He is an honest man and the only lie he has ever told me was when he told me how great the people in this "group" were. I have read the posts and as an outsider looking in that does not appear to be the truth. Now I do understand the fact that this is a very skeptical society (with good reason )
However, if they were passing out badges for kicking someone when they"re down a WHOLE bunch of you just earned one and you should be ashamed of yourself.
Mark is a good friend has a good heart and does help out anyone at anytime if he is able to.
I only wish I had the ability to help his family out However since he and I worked together, and we both are now unemployed, I am scrambling around trying to pay our bills as well.
So I will plea on his behalf, If you are in a position to help him out he deserves it.
and as far as the spelling goes it is his wife that types anything that is spelled correctly! (trust me on this one he attempted to fill out a couple job tickets for me and I couldn"t even read it)
Now in closing lets all remember what our dear mothers taught us " If you don"t have anything nice to say, don"t say anything at all." Happy holidays to all. Sam
