sphargy..... ...your N-Oil system is pressure governed 35psi by a springloaded release valve behind a BIG bolt behind the waterpump. But NO matter what you do to spring, it won't make-up for old tired pump and worn bearing clearances.

Howsomevers, new oilpressure gauge $10 (cheap), thats where I'd start..... ..Dell

A little more info please. Is the noise in the front or rear area. Does it sound like its in the head area or low in the oil pan area. Is it a high pitched ticking or a low pitched knock. How is your oil pressure at 400RPM. How bout 1500RPM.
When you let the clutch out at idle in 2nd gear does the knock get louder then settle down as you gain some forward speed. Is the oil fresh. Did this knock start only after the new water pump install?? Does the knock get louder when you first speed up the engine, does it get quieter when you quickly cut the gas back??

SUPPOSEDLY THIS ENGINE HAS NEW BEARINGS PISTONS SLEEVES A GOOD REBUILD IT GETS 50 PSI COLD AT IDLE AND 30-40 PSI IDLING HOT THE OIL IS FRESH i CANT REALLY TELL WHERE ITS COMING FROM ITS A LOW PITCHED SOUND i HAVE TO BE KINDA CLOSE TO THE ENGINE TO HEAR IT i NOTICED THE NOISE AFTER i INSTALLED A NEW WATER PUMP REBUILT THE GOVERNOR AND ADJUSTED THE FAN BELT i AM TRYING TO BE CONVINCED ITS NOT A ROD KNOCKING COULD IT BE A LIFTER OR BROKEN SPRING?

Rachel, It may be as simple as a wet fan belt, let the tractor idle take a bar of hand soap and hold it against the bottom portion of the belt as it is idling, if it is the belt you'll know in a few seconds, if this makes no differance then like Dell said it is an interferance issue. Post back and let us know how you make out.

Rachel..... ..many mechanics trace noice by using a Looonng screwriver as a hearing stethoscope. You can really locate noises that way.

I'd suppect you've gott interference problems with the parts you've replaced.

Governor: short bolt ON TOP, check'em out 'cuz longbolt will break your camshaft pulleygear $$$.

Waterpumps are known to be bad rite from the gitt-goe.

Fan can be rubbing or have a cracked blade or fanbelt be bad..... ....Dell

Rachel..... ...Tell yer neighbor, lift his Caddy hood and listen to its engine noise, worse'n tractor but it all gitts hidden and covered up by the hood and you set inside an insulated and padded driver bedroom.

lotta guys would call them oilpressure readings "braggin' pressures". They are good for new engine rebuild. Its normal for cold oil to have higher pressure reading. Glad you found your noise. Lotta'us ol'timers can't hear nuttin so we gotta cheat by using long screwdriver (grin)..... ..Dell
