We bought a 3 cyl. LCG on Mon., it was sold for a 2110 the the city works where it came from has it marked 4110. Where do I look for casting #s to find out which engine it is? It has 8 speeds live pto, power steering and 8x24 duals. Only 1635 hours. Additional info would be helpful. THANK YOU. BURT.

I happened to look at one of those very tractors yesterday. It had the dual turf tires, LCG, 8 spd. LPTO, differential lock, gas pedal, power steering, etc, etc. I started trembling, salivating and my hand kept reaching for my wallet so badly that I had to get out of there.

Burt,

I have a 2110 but it is Selct-O-Speed. The tractor should have a Mfr"s tag inside the hood that lifts to get at the battery. But it is one of those stupid stick on ones so it may have come unglued.

Two things that are very different between the 2110 (also 2000, & 3000) and the 4110 (or 4000), sort of like the 9N/2N and 8N rear hubs that you can see from a distance. One is the front axle. On the 2110 it is like that on the N"s, cast iron and angled back. But on the 4110 it is straight across and a tube made from heavy sheet steel, sort of a "U" shape up side down.

The other is the top of the three point hitch. On the 2110 it will look very much like your 9N. The top link rocker will be a casting. BUT on the 4110 there is (almost) NO similarity. As I remember, what serves as the top link rocker is a formed sheet steel piece, sutiablly heavy of course.

Hope you got a 4110. The 4000 series is a big "horse" and can do really serious work. Not that the 2000/3000"s are sloutches, but there is a lot more tractor in the 4000.

I am at the farm, all my litature is in town. If I can help you with any other info let me know. I am going in town tomorrow.

Regards,
Larry

Burt,

The model number should have a letter in front of it, B for the 2000 series and D for the 4000 series. All the other numbers are the production codes for the part. So yours is a 1971, assembled during the day shift the 19th of November. See the link below for aditional details. If you click on the image of the Vehicle Identification Plate it will load a page that shows the Plate close up.

Let me know what you have. I looked at the parts book and found that I was wrong to assume that the 4110 was a 4000 with smaller rear wheels and a shorter front axle. From what I could see in the parts book, the engine is the only difference, 158 ci vs 201 ci, the rest of the tractor is just like the 2110 that I have.

Regards,
Larry
