Here are the before, during, and after pictures of the Cyclone pre cleaner that came on my 1954 NAA project. I bead blasted the rust off on a low psi pressure to reduce the risk of blowing through the metal. As it was, the cup had some cust through that I had to repair with JB Weld (did I mention I love this stuff!) and then primered with Rustoleum. Shot it with a few coats of TSC Ford Grey today. I must say I am pretty pleased to save this Pre cleaner, as they are rare on NAA tractors. I don't know if you can see it in the last pic, but the jar is an original Air Cleaner Service Co. jar, with instructions to clean the jar regularly on the outside. Not a bad find!

JB weld is to slow fer me I use Permatex cold weld, sets up faster. I have repaired hundres of quaddrajet carbs with leak'n metering jet wells with it and never a come back. Good to see sum'in is good on the rustbucket.

I've had good luck with the jb quick weld.. sets in 4 minutes. I repaired a carb elbow with it, and it held till I changed it out for a new one ( 2 years? )

Lots of difference between Florida and N.C. temps. 70 and above JB works ‘bout as well. Put the JB in yer fridge fer a wile and try it that’s ‘bout how well it works here in the winter. I could use the JB iff’n I tote it around in my pocket. It all has its place I sure wish they would outlaw fuel injection and make everyone install a GM 4bar Quadra jet so I could build 4 or 5 a day and not 4 or 5 a year. Does enny one remember that ya use to hafta pump you accelerator to start yer engine and run it a min. or so then kick it off’n fast idle and run back in the house and wait fer it to warm up

That is a good tip, I will grab some to keep on hand when I am in a hurry. As it is, this restoration spanned several weeks while waiting to get to my Father-in-Laws bead blaster, so I could afford to wait on the JB Weld this time.
