Subject: Purchasing your 1948 8N / PAYMENT METHOD
Date: Fri, 10 Dec 2004 05:39:07 -0800

Hello Jeff,

After payment has reached you and excess balance sent back to shipper, the agent [Mr Roland Delveqio] will come pick up the legal bill of sale and other necessary documents that goes with the 1948 8N and drive to a prepaid shipper to be shipped to my customer, and he will take care of legal bill of sale and other necessary documents making sure they get to him, via fedex courier. Do confirm this so If you agree to assist in this capacity , Will you please send your contact address where my client should send the check , your name to be on check and telephone numbers ,i will instruct my client to send the check by express priority mail to you. In addition to this i will want you to call me on this number +0112-3480-2355-2372 to further show your willingness to sell your 1948 8N to my client and enable me address any questions that you might have .
Thank you and GOD bless.
David James

Upon receiving this email, I became a little curious as to why anyone would want to pay 2250 for a tractor and then pay an additional 4500 just for shipping...
So I called the FBI to investigate this and as it turns out...it's a scam in order to launder money for possible terrorist cells, and that the CIA was investigating each lead that was presented to them.

So, don't be duped into thinking that someone will buy your tractor SIGHT UNSEEN for whatever price you are asking....it won't make a difference if you're asking 10k for a new John Deere or 25k for a non running 2N...don't do it.. :)

I found this web page on Barnstormers.com

Airplane sellers are often confronted with these scammers. This is a good description of the variations in the scams and web links to who to contact when you encounter one.

Common scam, been going around for several years now. If you get stupid enough to send the refund check you will discover their check is no good but they have your money, and you are out the money and the tractor, or whatever you sold.
