In his posting on January 21, 2002, Dell recommended using the above mentioned resistor when using a 12 volt coil on a 8N Ford front mount distributor. Can anyone furnish the name of a supplier and/or a part number for this resistor. Any information will be appreciated!

Rolf..... ...I always post the RadioShack p/n 271-131, 2-pack of 1-ohm 10-watt resisters when I recommend my secret current limiter resistor trick for the 12v squarecan frontmount ignition coil. You don't haffta use RadioShack for a resistor source, but you won't gitt that value resistor at an tractor/autoparts store, just industrial electronic stores..... ..... .Dell, a 12 volt advocate for the right reasons

The easiest to find solution is to use 2 - 1 Ohm 10 Watt resistors in PARALLEL.
