Gangue,

I have been unable to find a toolbox for my dad's working '46 2N so thought I'd make one, but have never even seen the animal. Any draftsman out there who could make a set of plans (autocad or qcad) and/or take some detailed photos alongside of a ruler? It wouldn't take me much longer to make a couple of 'em as to do one, once I know what I'm making.

Thanks,

Paul

I have bought both 9N and 8N toolboxes from Ebay. I see someone post one every few weeks or so, its worth a look.

Paul: I have what is supposed to have been a 9N toolbox, because that is what the seller told me it was. When it arrived, it did not have the mounting flange/bracket as indicated in Tyler's message. I can sell that box to you easy enough. It is in pretty good shape. Or, I can lend it to you, and you can use it as a model to construct your own.

The flange or mounting bracket may be the toughest challenge, but you can try this box out too, and see if it mounts to your battery holder and opens and closes without hitting the top hood; and if it works fine, no need for the flange. e-mail me if I can help. 9N'er

Howdy neighbor! Here's a picture of the 9N/2N and 8N toolboxes, sans dimensions. It will at least give you a general idea of their look while others here are taking measurements.

Hope this helps..... ..... .Ed

Making one like the original would be difficult, but making a functional one wouldn't. There was a 8N tool box in the photo adds a couple of days ago. They are similar, but the 9N box has a mounting flange. I will take a picture of mine when I get home tonight for post monday.

Take Care
Steve

To add to Steve's reply, I've seen 2N toolboxes that looked different than the 9N box. Some of 2N boxes didn't have the mounting flange. That was the only difference between the two. They both mounted in the same area on the side of the battery holder.
