I am going to get a set of the bars that run along side the lift arms for my 8n. I was looking through the archives here and see that different terms are used for them. Anyhow my question is are the ones that New Holland sells a finer quality than the ones at TSC and those place's? Also are the NH toplinks any better? I am going to get the drawbar fot the lift arms for now and the bars that go up to the top link. I am not going to use it for any substantial pulling as I know it posses a real role over danger. Really just moving my implements around and trailers etc. I appriciate your help.

Thanks for the info. I'll keep that in mind. Some of these parts get pricey.

Thanks for the pic Mine has the brackets under the axles or else that kit would be the thing. I didn't know those bars were bent on the ends the ones I used were straight

It doesn't take much to controll the sway. I usually only use one sway bar, and that does fine. I made my own, and while I can't recall the measurements on the holes, a piece of ½ inch flat drilled with 1" holes works fine. You may have to grind down the ½" thickness so that you can snap a lynch pin in place, but you'll never need to buy a new set. As for the top link, I only use the turnbuckle type of adjustables, and with all that can go wrong with them or how they may be abused, I buy TSC and keep a spare on hand. Ron

The ones at TSC work.. but understand.. that for 7 bucks.. you are buying some pretty thin steel. A pair of them will keep a mower steady though. I'm sure mail order or NH will be a better 'grade'.

LOL Yeah I know what you mean some of that cheap junk is not much. Sometimes when some things break they can cause a safety hazard and that is always something to keep in mind

Probably for what you are going to use them for these parts from either supplier would work fine for you. In my case I come to learn you usually get what you pay for. When it comes to tractor parts, I usually buy from my NH dealer or an on-line source that I know supplies good quality parts.
