Manifold bolt out!!!

Hi and thanks to all who gave me advice on removing a stripped manifold bolt.I used DEEP CREEP spray, a ball peen hammer and a stud remover.Over the course of 2 weeks or so I would spray the bolt and tap it with the hammer a couple of times.The stud remover came ups today and I got brave enough to try it.Worked like a charm.My question is upon inserting new stud;do I put on two nuts locked against each other 1/2 way of the threads and turn to desired torque or is there a better way?I should replace them all but dont have the kahunahs!

I'd put some Never-sieze on those brass nuts as well.

Neubie..... ...yep, thats what a lotta guys do for stud installation, doublenut/jambnut. I often use an "acorn" nut but they don't make'm in 7/16 fine. I bought a 7/16 NF rod-nut (about 1" long) and use another bolt in the top to lock against the top of the stud being installed/removed. Since the manifold studs are "wet", many use some form of "puckey" to seal the threads. (your choice)

Remember manifold studs are torqued to 55 ft/lbs against their shoulder. The BRASS stud-nuts are only torqued to 27 ft/lbs..... ....Dell

The method of using two nuts snugged together is how I install mine. If they all do not need to be replaced, there is no reason to even try. Remember to use BRASS nuts on these studs for easier removal next time.
